Internship Guidelines and Required Documents for Software Engineering

Pre-Internship Documents:

        1. Document Demonstrating the Obligatory Nature of Internship for Our Students: Internship Obligation Document.
              This document gives the requesting company the opportunity to show that the university will make your SGK payment. The document can be obtained from the head of the internship committee.


Aproval Documents (by the internship committee):
        1. Internship Approval: Company Approval Document.

       Working Days Calculator: Jupyter Notebook. (Do not forget manual check.)

• (It is a document that must be approved by the company. It tells us that the company has accepted you as an intern on the relevant dates. It must be 20 working days. Holidays should be taken into account in the number of weekly working days. An application such as "more or less" is definitely wrong.)
• (This document must be approved by an official, valid method. Adding a digital signature from a drawing program to a PDF is not an official method. It must be a wet signature (physically “signed” ) OR a verifiable barcoded document (such as a student certificate from the e-government)).

        2. Document Indicating the Affiliated Social Security Institution: (2.1 OR 2.2)
                2.1. Sample Letter to the Social Security Institution: Sample Letter to SGK.
                2.2. Checking SPAS Eligibility Certificate via the e-Government System: SPAS Eligibility Certificate Inquiry.

• (For the internship application, "one of the documents numbered 1 and 2.1 or 2.2" must be submitted to the internship committee of the relevant department. There are only two options, one of which must be chosen: 2.1 The petition is submitted to the SGK and the document they give you is submitted to the internship committee. 2.2 The barcoded document is downloaded from the e-government and submitted to the internship committee.)

Documents for the start of the internship:

          1. SGK Employment Entry Statement Document (paid by the university):  Related guide     
                 Give this document to the company on the first day of your internship.
                 (If the University will pay Social Security Institution, Only for compulsory internships SE3001 and SE4001)


Post-Internship Submitted Documents to The Internship Committee for Approval of Your Internship:

      1 Internship Report Format: Internship Report Format (Latex Format).

• (It must be prepared with Latex and it is mandatory to comply with all the rules written in this form. Documents that have been modified or written in programs such as Word and different formats should not be made.)
• (The Internship Report must be completed during the internship and approved by the company by wet signature OR  a verifiable barcoded document on the last day of the internship.)
• (Every page in the internship report must be signed, and the second page (the first page is the title page) and the approval page must completed and signed by your company.)

      2. Internship Evaluation Form: Internship Evaluation Form.

• (The internship evaluation form is a document that must be filled out by the internship coordinator and is confidential to the student. Do not open the closed envelope.)
• (Your internship supervisor will fill out the internship evaluation form. It should be approved (wet sign OR a verifiable barcoded document) by both the supervisor and the company in the related fields on the document.)
• (Your company must close and sign the envelope.)

After completing the internship, you must submit Documents 1 and 2 to the department within the specified dates.

1. Can we do an internship during the semester? No. SE3001 and SE4001 internships cannot be done while education is ongoing.
2. I won't have make-up exams. Can I start my internship earlier? No. 
3. Can I do an internship along with summer school?  No. SE3001 and SE4001 internships cannot be done while education is ongoing.
4. Can I do more than 20 internship workdays? No. 
5. Can I do my two mandatory internships during one summer vacation? Yes, provided that there is no overlap. However, we do not recommend it during your first two summer vacations.
6. Can I do SE3001 and SE4001 internships in the same company? No.
7. What should I do if my internship will not continue for any reason? It should be reported to the department with a petition by the student.
